Leaking underground storage tanks (LUSTs) are a significant source of environmental contamination and can be a threat to human health and safety. In addition, the potential contamination of soil, groundwater, drinking water, and neighboring streams, rivers and lakes makes LUSTs an extreme environmental risk.
